Parish Pastoral Council
Meetings: Once per month
The Parish Pastoral Council is a committee that seeks to provide the pastor with counsel and suggestions. Representing other committees and the parish at large, it is a committee of dedicated and motivated individuals whose primary focus is the continued growth and strength of our parish. The Parish Council meets once a month. Membership in the council is for two or three-year terms.

Parish Finance Council
The committee deals with the financial stability of the parish and its related activities. The finance committee plans the budget, reviews the finances and expenditures of the parish, and monitors and advises on the parish investments.

Buildings and Grounds Committee
The Committee looks to the proper maintenance of the different parish buildings: church, parish center, and rectory. The committee discusses what needs to be done to maximize the use of parish facilities as well as provide preventive maintenance. The Buildings and Grounds Committee also deals with projects that need to be done. Members of the committee bring their talents in undertaking repairs and replacements.

Worship and Spirituality
The primary focus of this committee is on maintaining the beauty of our liturgical celebrations, namely the celebration of the Mass, which is the most important action of a parish community. Comprised of spiritually motivated and creative individuals who share ideas and work in a positive, prayerful manner and atmosphere, the Worship and Spirituality Committee meets once a month. We invite new members of our parish community who are willing to explore, examine, and discuss ideas and concepts pertinent to liturgy as defined by the Second Vatican Council.

Members of the Worship and Spirituality committee are assigned one, two, or three-year terms. We seek parishioners to participate in the following ministries: Eucharistic Minister, Lector (reader at Mass), Minister of Hospitality: Usher or Greeter (male or female), Altar Server (boys and girls in Grade 3 and above)

The Holy Family Charismatic Prayer Group
Meetings: Tuesday evenings in the Holy Cross Chapel
Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:30 PM
Praise and Prayer continuing from 7:00 to 8:30 PM

For many years a faithful group of people has gathered each Tuesday evening to pray together. The first prayer meetings started at the Holy Cross Novitiate in Bennington (now Southern Vermont College) in the summer of 1972 with 8 novices. The founders were Fr. Edmund Sylvia, C.S.C. and Brother Thomas Mahon, C.S.C. Area parishioners soon joined the prayer group, and as their numbers increased, they were invited to meet in the parish hall at Sacred Heart Church by Fr. Joseph Quinn, C.S.C. (then pastor). In the summer of 1973 the Holy Family Prayer Group met for the first time at that location.

Each week those who attend the prayer meeting give thanks and praise to God, sing, read Scripture and share how God is working in their lives. They pray for the needs of the people in attendance, for the Church, for the community and for the concerns of the whole world. Though there is a core membership who comes to pray weekly, there are others who drop in occasionally. All prayerful hearts are welcomed!

The Holy Family Prayer Group is under the headship of the Vermont Diocesan Office of Spiritual Renewal and is part of the total renewal by God’s Spirit in His Church as recognized and encouraged by the Roman Catholic Church.
